The East Antrim Therapy Centre was formed in Larne
in 1988 by families needing locally based treatment for
loved ones with Multiple Sclerosis.
The committee fundraised for several years to pay for the
specialist chamber which was built by a group of apprentices
in G.E.C (only charging for the materials), it was completed
in April 1992. The chamber was installed and tested by
The first treatment session took place on the 29th May 1992.
At first only MS patients used the therapy but over the years
various ailments as diverse as sports injuries and cerebral
palsy have been added to the list.
In 2002, a generous offer from Lafarge Cement to
use their old offices at Magheramorne resulted in the centre
moving to our current premises.
To coincide with the move we changed our name from 'East Antrim
Therapy Centre' to 'The Oxygen Therapy Centre'.
